Join us for an exciting three-day workshop in Braunschweig, Germany, as a precursor to the upcoming Digital Concrete 2024 conference (Munich). This event offers a unique opportunity for PhD students and enthusiasts of digital fabrication to get more than insights into our cutting-edge infrastructure for additive manufacturing at the Technische Universität Braunschweig.
Focused on digital construction processes, you will be guided through the entire process of manufacturing a structural building component—from conceptual design to cyber-physical fabrication. Depending on your main area of interest, you can choose between two options:
The workshops will feature insightful technical lectures from leading experts in the field and will be completed with the practical sessions (Hands-On) at the Digital Building Fabrication Laboraty (DBFL) or at the Digital Construction Site (DCS), enhancing your understanding of the latest advancements in digital fabrication with concrete.
This workshop is not just about learning; it's an invaluable platform to network with global peers and industry leaders, sharing knowledge and ideas that shape the future of construction.
Workshop A: Design and Fabrication with SC3DP – Technology @ DBFL Since 2016 the Digital Building Fabrication Laboratory (DBFL) is the center of digital design and fabrication for Shotcrete 3D Printing (SC3DP) at the TU Braunschweig. Together we will dive into the potentials and challenges using SC3DP through every single step – starting with the design, slicing, path planning and fabrication. |
Workshop B: Cyber-Physical Construction @ Digital Construction Site The Digital Construction Site is a recently set up research infrastructure where you can explore continuous digital additive manufacturing strategies for an in-situ fabrication. As a Cyber-Physical Construction System, the DCS consists of a stationary and mobile robot combined with high-end tracking systems and mixed reality technolgies. The Challenge will it be to develop and evaluate novel fabrication scenarios for the use of cyber-physical systems (CPS) on digital construction sites. The goal is to develop innovative approaches that improve efficiency, safety and sustainability at the digital construction site |
We appreciate the great interest in our workshop. Unfortunately, due to the limited number of places available, we have already reached our maximum capacity of applicants. If you are still interested in attending the workshop, you are welcome to submit your application, and we will place you on a waiting list. Should a spot become available, we will notify you immediately.
To apply for the waiting list, please send an email to digitalconcreteworkshop@gmail.com with the subject "Application Workshop DC 2024". Include your name, contact information, and your preferred focus area (Workshop A: Shotcrete 3D Printing at DBFL or Workshop B: Cyber-Physical Construction at DCS).
